THE OLIVE ORISSA is a Voluntary Organization, Non Government Orgsanization (NGO), Non Profit Charity created by like minded people who are up to making a difference in the society by working for the holistic development of poorer communities focusing on underprivileged children in the tribal villages, Health care the families of tribal villages, Girls & Women Skill development programme for rural villages and distaster management.
THE OLIVE ORISSA was registered in the year 2003, under Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. It is registered under FCRA with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
THE OLIVE ORISSA works for the empowerment underprivileged, vulnerable and needy sections of the society particularly children, women and youth. Our approach is to address the education, health, economic, cultural issues of the society, environment. THE OLIVE ORISSA aims to facilitate for self-sufficiency and over all development of all irrespective of caste, creed and gender. THE OLIVE ORISSA works in diversified activities like awareness creation, capacity building, skill development, sustainable livelihoodss, slum development. It also provides relief to victims of natural calamities like drought, floods, earth quake, atrocities, fire.
THE OLIVE ORISSA focuses on remote rural areas of Orissa where vulnerability is more. We have service dedicated volunteers and expertise resource persons to take up multifarious activities for the benefit of community.
A team who have passion in social service and compassion towards the sufferings of the disadvantaged sections of the society, has come together and formed THE OLIVE ORISSA. They have clear insight into the socio-economic and health issues faced by the downtrodden, underprivileged and marginalized segments of the communities. THE OLIVE ORISSA is a non-governmental, non-profit, social service voluntary organization working for an integrated development of children, women of volunerable segment of the society.
THE OLIVE ORISSA has been collaborating with the foreign donor agencies, non-government organizations and local donors towards making meaningful interventions for the cause of poor and needy sections of the society. THE OLIVE ORISSA believes that all lives have equal value, also thinks all people deserve the change to have healthy and productive.
OPERATIONAL AREA :-
Orissa is one of the poor state in India. In the geo political map of Orissa, DHENKANAL district is situated near the centre of the state and away from the fertile coastal plains. It has a total area of 4599.5 square kilometers and surrounded by dense forest, which however is depleting very fast though it produces timber, bamboo, firewood and kendu leaves, (the source of lively-hood of many of the Tribal population). Dhenkanal is one the backward districts of Orissa and it is draught prone. The district has 8 (eight) Blocks and 199 (one hundred ninety nine) Gram Panchayats.
